General Nursing and Midwifery


Objectives:

provide an opportunity to a large segment of in-service nurse to upgrade their knowledge and skills in order to respond to the changing health needs of the society:

motivate nurses to maintain clinical competence for providing quality are:

develop teaching, administrative and research skills

promote personal and professional growth for better opportunities


Durations:

General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) is a 3 and 1/2 years degree program for in-service nurses. The program is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) And Gujarat Nursing Council (GNC)


Educational Qualification:

Should have passed the XII standard/ equivalent examination, in all the subjects in any stream.


Career Opportunity:

They can seek a job in Govt. run hospitals, primary health care centres, dispensaries and health projects and scheme run by government departments. They can also be employed in schools, Orphanages and old age homes. In private sectors nursing homes, clinics are also open to them. They are also recruited by Military, Railways department for their departmental hospitals. Can go for further studies post basic Nursing.

Transfers for both ANM & GNM Program

ITM Group has transfer agreement with RAK Medical and Health Sciences University, Ras Al Khaima, UAE, by which the ANM graduates and GNM students after 2nd year can transfer to RAKMHSU and graduate as Registered Nurses with a Bachelor’s degree. They can further transfer from RAKMHSU to UK and other countries easily.
